What happens to Gmail “Send as” in January 2027?

From January 2027 Gmail stops supporting “Send mail as” for addresses hosted outside Google — for example you@yourbusiness.com on your own domain. Gmailify and “Check mail from other accounts” (POP) are being retired too. Aliases inside Google Workspace are not affected, but keeping your domain address in Gmail then means paying for Workspace seats. Nilomail gives your domain a complete home: mailbox, shared inbox and sending, hosted in the EU.

Can I keep my domain where it is?

Yes. You never need to transfer your domain. Whether it’s registered with Namecheap, Cloudflare, Aruba, Register.it, OVHcloud or GoDaddy, you simply add a few DNS records (MX, SPF and DKIM) at your current provider.

How do I switch to Nilomail? Will I lose my old emails?

You switch by updating your DNS records (MX, SPF and DKIM) at your current provider: from then on, new mail arrives in Nilomail. We don’t move old mailboxes, so your archive stays exactly where it is today, or you can download an export from your previous provider.

Where do I read my email? Can I use Apple Mail or Outlook?

Today from any browser, in the Nilomail web app. Native apps for iOS and Android are on the way. Nilomail is used through its own apps, not external clients like Apple Mail, Outlook or the Gmail app. The developer SMTP relay is only for sending email from your applications.

Does Nilomail use AI on my email?

No. Nilomail has no AI features today: nothing reads, summarises or analyses your messages, and your data is not used to train models.

I manage email for my clients. Can I keep them separate?

Yes. Each client gets its own workspace with its own domains, team and sending reputation, and you manage them all from your account.

Where is my data stored?

In the European Union. We use an infrastructure provider based in the US, with contractual safeguards for transfers (see the privacy notice). We don’t scan your mail for advertising or to train AI models.
